FAQs

What experience do I have to have before joining the team?

No experience is required.  We have members from all levels from beginners to those who have competed Ironman triathlons.  Our workouts are structured to be adaptable to any fitness level.

When can I join the team?

We accept new members at any time, although joining is strongly recommended at the beginning of the fall or spring semesters.  You may fill out the membership form here at any time during the year, but if you want to receive reimbursements or discounts, you must turn your dues within the first 3 weeks of the semester (September 22nd for Fall 2017).

How much are dues, and when do I have to decide if I want to pay them?

Our dues are $50 per year.  You do not have to pay dues to practice with the team, but paying dues will allow you to receive partial reimbursements for races and exclusive team discounts.  The due date for Fall 2017 dues is September 22nd, 2017.

Will I have time to train with my busy school schedule?

Absolutely, it just takes good time management skills.  All of our most accomplished athletes are also high-achieving students.  Furthermore, a regular exercise routine is known to improve your focus at work.  These are good things to tell your parents when asking them for a new bike.

What are the typical triathlon distances?

What do I need to buy?

At a minimum:

Swimming: Swimming suit, goggles, swim cap
